Our Kindergarten Program

Dear Parents;

Thank you for your interest in our school.  Let me take a moment to familiarize you with our kindergarten program.

Our kindergarten program continues the preschool curriculum by encouraging the children to learn through exploring their surroundings. A variety of hands-on materials and experiences are available.  Self-discipline and independence are encouraged and developed. The children are taught the alphabet through the use of a phonics curriculum. We also continue to lay the foundation for reading, literacy, and a love for lifelong learning.  Students also learn number recognition and beginning math skills. We reinforce the Biblical values you teach at home and prepare your child academically for the next grade. Our program emphasizes social and emotional growth through a play based, literacy enhanced curriculum.  It is important for children to learn to play and interact together as a group.  They will learn to share with others, increase problem solving skills, and how to develop friendships.  Christian morals and God’s attributes are seen, discussed, and pointed out throughout the day.  Our goal is for each child to understand that God knows and loves them, and to nurture a genuine love for the Lord and others.

Parents are an integral part of our program.  We can facilitate many more activities with the children in a safer environment because of parental assistance.  This means that once or twice per month on a rotating basis, you or someone representing you will be responsible to be ‘Parent of the Day.’ Parents help in the classroom by supplying a nutritious snack and drink, assisting with activities, and cleaning up that day.  If a parent is working and unable to fulfill their duties of ‘Parent of the Day’, they pay an additional fee per month.

If you would like to register your child, please fill out the enclosed information/ authorization form and mail it back with the registration fee.  The physical forms can be completed later and mailed separately or brought to the school the first day. The first tuition payment is due by August 15th.

You are welcome to visit the school when we are in session. If you would like to schedule a visit or have questions, please call us at (860) 228-2891. I will get back to you at my earliest convenience.  We look forward to serving both your child and you at our school.
